  • Topps Ripped's box guide, dated September 28, 2026, says the Hobby Jumbo Box is the only format with an autograph in every box. That guide still carries an October 22 street date, while Topps' product pages and calendar now list November 5.

2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball is the Topps NBA set that Topps Ripped says opens the new collecting season. Topps lists it for November 5, 2026, with the Mega Box on November 12. It comes in Hobby, Jumbo, Value and Mega boxes on topps.com, plus Fanatics Value Box, Hanger Pack and Fat Pack formats described by Topps Ripped. Details verified as of October 23, 2026.

When Does 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball Release?

Topps' release calendar lists 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball for Thursday, November 5. The Hobby Box, Jumbo Box, Value Box and Hobby Box Sealed Case pages all show "Release day: Nov 5" and name November 5, 2026 as the product release date. One Topps page disagrees: the Topps Ripped box guide, dated September 28, 2026, lists an October 22, 2026 street date. The product pages and calendar are the current listings, so we go with November 5. As of October 23, every Flagship Basketball box on topps.com shows Sold out, and the pages say you must be logged in to purchase, payment is captured at checkout and all sales are final.

Box Formats and What Each One Lists

Four formats have topps.com product pages; the box content column quotes them.

Format Packs and cards Listed box content Release day and cart limit
Hobby Box 20 packs of 12 cards (240 cards) 1 autograph or relic card per box Nov 5; limit 4 per cart
Jumbo Box 10 packs of 28 cards (280 cards) 1 autograph and 1 relic card per box Nov 5; limit 3 per cart
Value Box 6 packs of 12 cards (72 cards) "Look for Autograph & Relic Cards" Nov 5; limit 10 per cart
Mega Box 12 packs of 15 cards (180 cards) "Look for Autograph & Relic Cards" Nov 12; limit 5 per cart

Sealed cases: 12 boxes per Hobby case and 20 per Mega case, one per cart. The card totals are our arithmetic.

Topps Ripped's box guide describes seven formats, adding a Fanatics Value Box (eight packs of 12 cards, one Topps Foil Pattern parallel per pack, nine inserts per box), a Hanger Pack (one pack of 48 cards with two Diamante parallels, one 1981-82 Topps Basketball insert and five inserts) and a Fat Pack (one pack of 24 cards with two inserts). It also says every Value Box carries Season Tip Off parallels and six inserts, and every Mega Box carries four 1981-82 Topps Basketball inserts.

Ripped's format exclusives: Victory parallels and Player Number Variations in the Hobby Box, Sandglitter in the Jumbo Box, Season Tip Off in the Value Box, Topps Foil Pattern in the Fanatics Value Box and Diamante in the Hanger Pack. The Hobby Box and Jumbo Box share a Hobby-only insert lineup (Quest for the Crown, Comic Court, From the Vault, New School, The Daily Dribble and Levitation); Soundcheck, Certified Cold and the Holo Foil parallels are Retail-only. Our hobby box vs retail guide covers what those labels mean.

What Is in the Base Set?

Topps describes a 300-card Base Set, and the checklist PDF linked from its landing page (dated October 9, 2026) lists cards 1 to 300 with 45 flagged Rookie at numbers 256 to 300. Topps Ripped breaks it down as 200 veterans, 40 rookies, 30 team combo cards and 30 retired players, so its rookie count does not match the PDF's 45 flags. The PDF opens with Topps' note that checklists reflect the intended configuration at the time of production and that actual contents and odds may vary.

Topps names the first official rookie cards of AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson and Keaton Wagler, cards 256 through 260 in the PDF. Topps' description also promises the first LeBron James Sixers and Giannis Antetokounmpo Heat cards; the PDF lists Antetokounmpo with the Miami Heat on card 17 but James with the Los Angeles Lakers on card 57, so check the final checklist before chasing that one.

The short-printed variations Topps lists are Number Variations, Team Variations, Golden Mirror Image Variations, Wood Variations and, new for 2026-27, Clear Variations. Ripped says the Clear Variations are printed on acetate and numbered to 10. The PDF carries 100-card lists for the Clear, Player Number and Team Color Border Variations and three 100-card Golden Mirror Image lists; it has no list titled Wood.

Inserts and Super Short Prints

Topps calls out these:

  • All Kings. A Super Short Print that adds the first-ever Gold 1/1 All Kings cards in Topps Basketball. The PDF numbers it AK-1 to AK-25 with 24 cards listed (AK-5 does not appear).
  • Bounce. Ripped calls it a new Super Short Print; Topps says its card technology is designed to mimic the texture of a real basketball. 25 cards in the PDF.
  • Quest for the Crown. Championship contenders, 10 PDF cards. Ripped says it is Hobby Box and Jumbo Box only.
  • 1981-82 Topps Basketball. The returning burst design, with autograph variations. Ripped says 60 veterans and retired players plus 40 rookies; the PDF lists 100 cards, 40 flagged Rookie.
  • Poster Factory and Drivers. Dunkers and slashers; 20 and 40 PDF cards.

Topps has published no pack odds for this product as of October 23, 2026; the landing page links only the checklist, and the Topps odds page has no entry for it.

Autographs and Relics

Topps names Flagship Real One Autographs, Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs, New Applicants, Level Up Signatures and 1981-82 Topps Autographs on the autograph side, and Flagship Real One Relics, Own the Game and Roundball Remnants on the relic side. Its description names Stephen Curry, Luka Dončić, Victor Wembanyama and Anthony Edwards for memorabilia, and LeBron James, Jalen Brunson and Nikola Jokić for signatures. The PDF lists 46 Flagship Real One Autograph, 40 Flagship Real One Rookie Autograph, 39 Rookie Photo Shoot Autograph and 50 Flagship Real One Relic cards, among others.

Per the product pages, a Hobby Box lists one autograph or relic card and a Jumbo Box one autograph and one relic card; the Value and Mega boxes say "Look for Autograph & Relic Cards". Ripped adds that autographs appear across every Retail format.

Which Box Should a Breaker Open?

Our read of Topps' own pages: the Jumbo Box is the one to break if the spot needs a guaranteed autograph, since Ripped says it is the only format with an autograph in every box. The Hobby Box gives 20 packs to split across spots plus the full Hobby insert lineup. The Mega Box is the largest Retail box at 180 cards but releases on November 12. Our card break glossary page covers common formats.

If you are streaming it, our Custom Sports Card Break Mats ($39.99 to $49.99 in three sizes, the largest 16" x 32", as of October 23, 2026) are 4 mm thick neoprene with an anti-slip backing, printed across the full surface with your logo. They sit with backdrops, banners and card stands in our custom card breaker supplies collection, and our basketball cards collection holds singles.
