When Wizards of the Coast removed the Edition 1 stamp for Base Set's second printing, the card design briefly stayed otherwise identical — including the missing shadow. The later Unlimited printing added a drop shadow to the right of the art box, bolder fonts, and richer colors. That makes Shadowless the middle child: rarer than Unlimited, more attainable than First Edition.
Quick check: compare the right edge of the artwork frame — flat with no shading means Shadowless. All First Edition Base Set cards are also shadowless in design; "Shadowless" as a label means the unstamped version.
