Topps ran a pre-order window first. Its pre-order text says orders placed in that window "are scheduled to begin shipping in advance of the product release date, November 6, 2026," and that delivery on the release date cannot be guaranteed. On October 31, both listings showed as sold out on topps.com, with a cart limit of 6 boxes or 1 case. The sold out pages we read showed no price, so we are not quoting one.

What Is in a Hobby Box?

The only format Topps lists publicly is the hobby box, sold singly or as a sealed case. A First Day Issue listing on topps.com sits behind a customer login, so we are not describing it.

Format Configuration (Topps) Cart limit Status on topps.com, October 31, 2026
Hobby Box 7 cards per pack, 1 pack per box, 1 autograph per box 6 Sold out
Hobby Box Sealed Case 8 boxes per case, same box contents 1 Sold out

We did not find a Topps pack odds sheet for this product on October 31, so we are not stating odds for any parallel or insert. Topps' checklist carries a note that checklists "reflect the intended configuration of that product at the time of production, but actual contents and odds may vary." Our hobby box vs retail guide covers the formats.

What Is Topps Inception?

Topps describes Inception as a brand that combines "bold artwork, vibrant colors, and layered visuals" with a unique card stock, premium content and limited inserts. Topps Ripped, Topps' editorial site, calls that stock thick, says Topps Inception Football first appeared in 2011, and in its collector guide says the 2026 set "marks the Inception brand's return to the NFL for the first time since 2015." Topps Ripped describes the base set as "rendered in the brand's abstract, painted art style," with a checklist that leans heavily into each year's incoming rookie class alongside veterans.

Base Set, Parallels and Rookie Inserts

The official checklist PDF, dated September 28, 2026 in its file properties, lists 200 base cards. Cards 1 to 150 carry no rookie flag. Cards 151 to 200 are flagged Rookie, starting with Fernando Mendoza (Las Vegas Raiders), Ty Simpson (Los Angeles Rams), Garrett Nussmeier (Kansas City Chiefs), Drew Allar (Pittsburgh Steelers) and Carson Beck (Arizona Cardinals) at 151 through 155.

Topps names two new base parallels: Gold Electricity, which Topps Ripped says is "capped at 50 copies and finished with a burst of metallic rays," and Hot Pink, numbered to 35. The checklist PDF does not list the full parallel ladder, so we are not naming other colors or print runs.

Two rookie insert sets share the same 25 subjects in the same order: Launch (L-1 to L-25), which Topps Ripped describes as "built around a bold typographic design and fiery color-burst backgrounds," and Rookie Short Prints (RSP-1 to RSP-25). Carson Beck is L-1 and RSP-1, Fernando Mendoza is L-10 and RSP-10, and Sonny Styles closes both at L-25 and RSP-25. Topps' checklist gives no print run or odds for the short prints.

Autographs to Chase

The checklist groups autographs into eight sets. Counts are listed entries per PDF section.

Autograph set Code Entries What Topps and Topps Ripped say
Rookie Autographs RA 46 Ink on the base rookie design; names include Ty Simpson and Caleb Downs
Rookie Autograph Variations RAV 20 Checklist only
Inception Silver Signings ISS 10 Metallic ink colors; "rare 1/1 versions with inscriptions"
Dawn of Greatness Autographs DGA 20 One of the returning Inception favorites Topps names; the list includes Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady
Immersion Autographs IA 16 Debuts in football, carried over from Inception Baseball; "layered streaks of dripping paint"
Charged Particles CP 12 Debuts in football, carried over from Inception Baseball; "a glowing ring and orbiting sparks of color"
Dual Rookie Autographs DRA 7 pairs "Pairs two top rookies from the same team"
NFL Draft Commissioner Combo DCC 16 Checklist only

Six of the seven Dual Rookie Autograph pairings also appear in the book set below; the seventh, Kenyon Sadiq and Cade Klubnik of the Jets, is only in Dual Rookie Autographs, while the Browns and Raiders pairs are only in the book set. Topps Ripped calls Inception's autographs hard-signed.

Patches, Jumbo Relics and Books

The autograph relic section has five sets: Provenance Patch Autographs (PPA, 43 entries), Rookie Jumbo Relic Autographs (RJRA, 39), Genesis (G, 24), Dual Rookie Relic Autographed Book (DRRA, 8 pairs) and NFL First Milestone Autograph Relic (FMRA, 12). Topps' landing page says Rookie Jumbo Relic lets you "chase stunning patch autographs from the NFL's top rookies," and Topps Ripped says each one "contains a large circular piece of player-worn memorabilia alongside a signature."

The eight book card pairings are Germie Bernard and Drew Allar (Steelers), KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston (Browns), Carson Beck and Jeremiyah Love (Cardinals), Mike Washington Jr. and Fernando Mendoza (Raiders), Garrett Nussmeier and Emmett Johnson (Chiefs), Makai Lemon and Cole Payton (Eagles), Ty Simpson and Max Klare (Rams), and Carnell Tate and Nick Singleton (Titans). Our patch card glossary page covers patch versus jersey relics.

Where Fernando Mendoza Appears

Topps' landing page says Mendoza is "headlining the next generation" and Topps Ripped lists him as the headline rookie. On the checklist he is listed as a Las Vegas Raiders rookie in 11 sections: base card 151, Launch L-10, Rookie Short Prints RSP-10, Rookie Autographs RA-FM, Rookie Autograph Variations RAV-FM, Inception Silver Signings ISS-FM, NFL Draft Commissioner Combo DCC-1, Provenance Patch Autographs PPA-FM, Rookie Jumbo Relic Autographs RJRA-FM, Genesis G-FM and the Dual Rookie Relic Autographed Book DRRA-MWJ with Mike Washington Jr. He is not in Dual Rookie Autographs or NFL First Milestone Autograph Relic.

Breaking Inception on Stream

With 7 cards and one autograph per box, we would run a card break of this product by the box or by the case, and every card gets camera time. Topps Ripped says the brand uses thick card stock, so check the fit before a hit goes into a standard holder; our toploader sizes guide explains pt thickness. Our Custom Sports Card Break Mats print your logo across 4 mm neoprene with an anti-slip backing in three sizes, 12" x 18", 12" x 22" and 16" x 32", from $39.99 to $49.99 as listed on October 31, 2026, and the rest of the custom card breaker supplies collection covers backdrops and card stands.
